Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is the government department responsible for natural resources, energy, minerals, and earth sciences. Formed in 1994, it amalgamated the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources with the Department of Forestry. The department collaborates with provincial governments, international organizations, and other stakeholders to manage Canada's natural resources, including [[forestry|forestry management]] and [[mining|mining operations]].
